Baked Fresh with Magic :)

I'm Meg and I'm a junior at JWU for Baking & Pastry Arts/FSM and a Disney CM! I did my first Disney Culinary Program from March-May 2012 at the Polynesian Resort Bakery and am gong down for my 2nd DCP from July-November 2013 to bake for EPCOT and the Food & Wine Festival. I'm currently a Campus Rep so I'm here to help! Come join my magical journey of dreams coming true!

Why does baking have to be a job that requires getting up with the sun? Getting up at 6 is like pulling my teeth out no matter where I’m going.

littlezotz asked: Is there any Disney movie you've seen that gets a 1? Or anything LESS than a 10? (Okay, not exactly the rules of the "Ask," but I wanted to cut to the chase lol).

Hm, good one. I can never say there is a disney film that I full blown hate, if you put it in I will watch it. However I always use my disney bucket system. I have all my disney films in boxes, my DVDs obviously go between school and home and the VHS tapes stay home. But if I’m in a disney mood (which hello, is always) and start going through what I have I never reach for say The Jungle Book or Sword and the Stone. And i honestly think it’s just because I haven’t seen them in ages. And I wasn’t too fond of The Incredibles. But like I said, if pure going to watch it, I’ll watch it too.

Oh wait! There is a shitty disney film! So shitty I think I fall asleep before the ending every time. The only reason I have it on DVD is because it came in a 2 movie pack but otherwise I wouldn’t spend a penny on it, Pocahontas II, horrible.

Anonymous asked: Hey! I'm going down for DCP in August and I was just wondering about the discounts. My mom and brother are coming down with me and we're going down a few days before my start date but would I be able to have my discounts on the park passes and hotel before my start day? Also what exactly are all the discounts that we get? Thank you!

Unfortunately not, your discounts will only kick in when you get your ID and the dates of their validity will be posted on the card. So essentially those few days before your program you will still be going as a guest.

You get a variety of discounts depending on the time you are there. the standard discount is that you get 20% off merch, 10% off electronics and I believe (but don’t quote me on it!) you get 40% off hotels. The discounts will go up during the holiday season from 20 to 40 and 10 to 20. You may also see that you can get 40% table service dining for lunch at certain restaurants. You even get discounts outside of the parks, places like chick-fil-a offer buy 1 get 1 free deals for cast members with an ID.

when you get access to the hub there will be a link that will show you all your discounts. it will list those for on property and off property so you know what you have available. there is also Cast Connections, a store exclusively for cast members that sells items from the parks at a discounted price. granted they may be a bit damaged but I got my WDW sweatshirt for $11 instead of $45 because there was a blotch that it took me ages to find because I couldn’t notice it on the sleeve. You can find some great gems there! and Company D, they offer discount items to CMs as well!

so good.

Everyone talks about The Beatles being the best band ever so much that sometimes you forget that THEY REALLY ARE

Abbey Road is such a perfect album. It was released 46 years ago and I’m still yet to hear any song writing better than this. I think I’m going to cry.

AND IN THE END

THE LOVE YOU TAKE

IS EQUAL TO THE LOVE YOU MAKE

one of my favorite beatle lyrics of all time

The details of Walt’s apartment:
The apartment is only about 500 square feet, and consists of a living room with two pull out sofa beds (one was Walt’s and one was Lillian’s). There is a small kitchenette with a mini bar type fridge, and cupboards/counters containing the following kitchen supplies:
Original glassware,
PINK frying pans,
a clear glass water pitcher,
white coffee mugs, and
two glass baby bottles that were used for the grandchildren.
Walt’s original sandwich maker (looked like a panini maker), cloth cord and all. Apparently he made himself his favorite sandwich with it quite often: a simple grilled cheese.
A “Tom and Jerry” drink serving set. Not the cat and mouse you’re thinking of, but aholiday drink invented in the 1850′s consisting of egg, rum, milk, brandy & other spices.
An old metal orange juicer, because Walt loved fresh squeezed orange juice.
Even though cast members kept him stocked with fresh oranges, he still preferred to go down to the Sunkist Citrus House to use the fancy automatic squeezer they had.  This was also an excuse for him to go and mingle with guests!
and all this can still be found there today!

you have no idea how bad I want to see his apartment. i just can’t even picture what I would be like, I’d be a crying mess

Women are afraid of meeting a serial killer. Men are afraid of meeting someone fat.

When Strangers Click, a 2011 documentary about online dating.

It reminds me of that famous Margaret Atwood quote: “Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them.” It also reminds me of something written by one of the mods of Sex Worker Problems: “Misandry irritates. Misogyny kills.”

I mean, it’s just true.

That’s it.  That’s it right there.
